This multi-faceted project combined several hardscape and softscape elements. Prior to the project, the customer had major foundation repairs completed on their porch, which required most of the existing decorative graphite stone to be removed. Unfortunately, much of the stone became contaminated with dirt and debris during the repairs. We were able to salvage the stone along the untouched garage berm, while the customer opted for black mulch in the remaining areas.

We also removed many of the existing plants and replaced them with a variety of yew shrubs and perennials, highlighted by a beautiful Red Sentinel Japanese Maple. Both outdated 5×8 brick walkways were completely removed and replaced with new hardscape. The main entrance features large Oaks pavers, while the secondary entrance combines the same pavers with black raven rock, which the client had requested. We also reconstructed the original boulder wall.

Project preparation was extensive, requiring the removal of several tons of decorative stone and approximately 20,000 pounds of dirt, buried brick, and concrete. The customer was extremely pleased with the finished result. Incidentally, we suggested framing the main entrance with two symmetrical trees, such as lilacs or spiral Spartan junipers, which the customer may consider down the road.
